On Thursday, September 1, 2005, Celine Dion gave a news conference at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Before the dedication of the hotel's new 26-story, 949-room Augustus Tower, Dion pledged $1 million to the relief fund for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
