With the release of her album The Colour Of My Love, on
November 8, 1993, Celine revealed who was the man of her life, a secret that Rene and she have kept hidden for a long time. Indeed,
at the end of the usual thanks, she wrote on the cover:

CELINE LOSES THE VOICE

"Once, I lost my voice, I was very afraid, because I was ill-trained, I had spoken and sung too much.
I went to see a voice professional in New York, a doctor and then
he said to me, if you want to sing all your life, you have to do exactly what I am going to tell you to do.
He asked me to stop speaking during 3 weeks, I had an inflammation
of vocal cords. And now, every time I have a rest day, and every time I am on tour, I never
speak and it is the favorite day of every people who surround me! It is true that it
is hard, but it is a job and I am paid expensively to do it, people come and see me performing, buy discs, I must give the best of me".

CELINE LOVES HER FANS |

Here is a confession of Celine, taken from the interview of the videotape Unison (1990):
"There are people who ask me: "Don't you feel hard, sometimes, to be known?... You can't
have a private life." And all of this... But I realize so much that you cannot have
everything. You cannot ask people to buy your discs, to come and see your shows,
to be 'Sold Out' everywhere, to have a beautiful Gold disc and, at the same time, to ask
this people to leave you alone, to have a private life. For me, my private life and my singer
life, it is everytime the same thing. When people will stop asking me for
autographs or for photos, I will begin to wonder... I want this people to be near me, I NEED THEM TOO... " [thanks to Pascal for the information]

BROKEN HEART |

"When I sang the song My Heart Will Go On, the Titanic song at the 70th Annual Academy Awards on March 23, 1998,
I had a big heart necklace and by singing with emotion, I got so upset, I knocked the heart and it almost fell. I thought, if the heart falls to the ground, any fool
could jump on it. I hurt myself because it was rather big, full of diamonds (14 millions) and
I hoped that it was not broken, I had to go on singing my song,
and fortunately the heart remained hanging!"

CELINE CANNING

"As I have a central scene in the center of the stadium, I cannot come and walk under
the stage. I do not want to walk at once in the audience. Then, to come under the stage,
one puts me in a black chest, I am in a big box closed, and one rolls me under the stage ten
minutes before the show, as if one transported musical instruments, microphones or
cables. We have a central scene and there is everyone around me. It is 4 feet high, we have low, rolling seats.
For those who work here, it is really hard, it is hot, they work hard.
Under the stage, there are the technicians, the entire show is here. If there is
a problem, there are emergency buttons almost everywhere. There is a notion of risk,
everything can be dangerous."

MISCELLANEOUS

Celine keeps preciously in a little plastic bag a 5 cent coin minted in 1968 (her year of birth), which she
found on the ground just before one of her first concerts.

Michael Jackson likes very much Celine; she asked him for an autograph by interposed persons,
he returned her an autographed photo "To Celine with Love", as well as the hat which he wore
for Billy Jean's clip, also autographed.

THAT WAS ALMOST THE LAST ONE! |

Celine Dion almost touched the drama: her New Year's concert, La Dernière de Celine
(Celine's last one) in Montreal, marking not only the new century, but also
her last performance on stage, could have ended in a tragic way. A fan, maybe disappointed by her
decision to take a two-years break and dedicate herself to her
husband Rene Angelil, was mastered after having tried to clear a passage through
the security barrier, a gun with electric trigger in his hand. The fanatic hurt 3 members of the security staff
(now they are safe) and the police of Montreal admitted that if he had
been able to reach the French Canadian star, it could have been tragic. Still during this concert, a dozen million televiewers believed in an effect of atmosphere when a smoke escaped from the bottom of the scene. Not at all! It was a footlight that suddenly
caught fire! In a few seconds, while Celine was in full action, this beginning of fire was
mastered by the security service apparently well-prepared for this kind of unforeseen.
Moreover, while the duet J'irai où tu iras with Luck Mervil was going full swing, Celine was dancing, running everywhere, as we are used to see her.

Suddenly, her receiver
microphone got loose from her dress and fell accidentally to the ground. Luck noticed it,
let her know and as by magic, a technician jumped up on stage and replaced the
microphone. This made her forget her part "et ta
langue d'ici". The same situation happened during the duet with Bryan Adam
When you're gone, but Celine did not lose her words. Let us imagine that the
microphone broke...
Celine admitted on a tv show hosted by Michel Drucker that during this concert, she did not completely give her best to the audience. She said: " It was as though another person was performing through me."
But she was upset with that.
