AIMONS-NOUS

In November 2004, many artists from Quebec decided to make a tribute to the humanist Yvon Deschamps. More than 70 artists, singers, actors and humorists recorded, with Yvon Deschamps' wife, Judy Richards, several versions of the song Aimons-nous, popularized by Deschamps in 1970. Ginette Reno, Celine Dion and Gilles Vigneault, among many other known people, participated to the project, kept secret until the last minut.
A set of five DVD tribute to Yvon Deschamps was released on November 23, 2004.

MA NOUVELLE FRANCE

On Sunday, October 3, 2004, in Las Vegas, Celine Dion recorded the theme song in the french-canadian movie Nouvelle-France which opens in theaters in Quebec on November 19.
The historic drama Nouvelle-France takes place in the middle of the XVIIIth century, as France leaves Canada.
Contacted five months earlier by the producer Richard Goudreau, Celine Dion's husband and manager Rene Angelil was impressed by the movie. Then he gave his green light so that the singer could perform the song entitled Ma Nouvelle France.

NADIE LO ENTIENDE

Celine Dion appears as a vocalist on Cafe Quijano's album, '¡Qué grande es esto del amor!', released on November 4, 2003. It contains 11 new original songs. It is the group's 4th album.

Manuel, one of the group singers talked about the experience, with his castilian humour: "Contacts with Celine? Not much because there was her husband... The truth is that all happened by chance. We were recording in Los Angeles and in the studio we knew a hawaiian producer and compositor called Johnson. He invited us four days in his studio on Oahu Island where by coincidence we met Humberto Gatica, Dion's producer, and now as well ours."
"During that days, Humberto Gatica took the opportunity to go in Las Vegas where Celine Dion was presenting her show. He told her the story of the song Nadie lo entiende, where we speak about the difficulties our manager had, three years ago, after an accident, when he came back at home in bath-chair in front of his three children..."
"One day, Celine follows, he explained me that Cafe Quijano's near relation had a serious accident which make him paraplegic. When he told me that he was dreaming that I collaborate with them, I didn't hesitate. I believe that we all have to help us each other."
"When Humberto Gatica came back in Los Angeles, Manuel adds, he gave us the surprise and the message that Celine was inviting us to watch her at the show in Las Vegas. At the end, we spoke with her. The only thing, I can say about Celine is that the greatness begins by the humility and she is the best exemple".

QUAND ON S'AIME

On Friday, October 03, 2003, Celine Dion performed the song Quand on s'aime in duet with Rene Simard in studio in Las Vegas. This song can be found on his album Hier... encore.

"It would be great to record it with somebody like Celine Dion," mentionned artistic director of the project Lionel Laveault, without thinking that was really possible.
However, enough that Guy Cloutier and Rene Angelil talk about, to have an answer at once : "I never could have imagine that this dream would come true," Rene Simard admitted to the Journal de Montréal by phone from Las Vegas on Saturday morning. Celine is so in demand and so busy. And she accepted : "You are part of Rene (Angelil)'s past and all what Rene loves, I love", she repeated every time that the singer was thanking her.
Rene Simard has known Celine Dion since the beginning of her career. But he sang only one time with her, during the Adisq gala which Celine hosted, a few years ago. Rene Simard has known Rene Angelil who was part of Guy Cloutier's team while he was singing in Japon, in Las Vegas and in Paris.
Just after her show at the Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Celine joined Rene Simard in studio to record Quand on s'aime. Celine arrived in studio a little bit after midnight. She went away at 3:15 am. All the time, she was in a good mood, joyfully worked, joked, in spite of the late hour.
Rene Simard enjoyed very much this special time in studio with Celine Dion : "I wasn't nervous, but happy, he says, Celine transmitted me her energy." The song, very jazz, was directed by Michael Bubli's arranger.

Michel Legrand and Nana Mouskouri originally performed this song in 1965.
