Concert in Trois-Rivières and $1,700,000 for the Foundation Celine Dion

On August 31, 2016, Celine Dion ended her Summer Tour 2016 in Trois-Rivières, Quebec. Céline gave two benefit concerts on August 30th and 31st at the Amphithéâtre Cogeco, in Trois-Rivières. She was handed a check of $1,700,000 for the Foundation Celine Dion.

Upon news of the money raised, Céline expressed her enormous gratitude:

I would like to thank each person who attended the show. The extreme pleasure with which I performed is matched only by the generosity shown by all those who helped us make these two evenings a success. Their actions will allow us to continue to help many children and their families.

The Fondation Céline Dion also thanked la Corporation des événements de Trois-Rivières Inc., the Amphithéâtre Cogeco, the city of Trois-Rivières, Les Productions Feeling, ALBG Communication as well as the citizens and businesses in the region of Mauricie-Centre-du-Québec. The success of these two shows would not have been possible without their collective support.

Thanks to such generosity, the Fondation Céline Dion will be able to support numerous organizations that help sick and underprivileged children for many years to come.

The Foundation Céline Dion was founded by Céline Dion and René Angélil in 1998 with the goal of giving back to the community. Financed principally by large-scale events, the foundation has raised and donated nearly $11 million to various charities and organizations throughout the years.

Backstage, Céline met Julie Snyder, as well as the son and daughter of the producer and host, Romy Péladeau-Snyder and Thomas Péladeau-Snyder.
