On February 14, 2008, Celine Dion met Nelson Mandela, former president of South Africa and Nobel Peace Prize, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Celine Dion was accompanied by Rene-Charles, her mother, Rene Angélil, and Patrick Angelil. The meeting lasted about twenty minutes. On January 27, 2008, Celine Dion took part in a concert for 'Le Secret des Enfoirés', at the Zénith in Strasbourg, France.

On January 26, 2008, Celine Dion took part in the 9th ceremony of NRJ Music Awards, at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France. The evening was hosted by Benjamin Castaldi. During the ceremony, Celine received an Award of Honour. She performed "Taking Chances".

On January 25, 2008, Celine Dion took part in the show "Star Academy 7", hosted by Nikos Aliagas. The television show was broadcast live on TF1 channel in France at 8:50 p.m. Celine performed: "Alone", "Dans un autre monde" in duet with two of the contestants of the show, Jérémy and Mathieu "S'Il suffisait d'aimer"
