On December 7, 2009 Celine Dion attended the Portland Trailblazers vs New York Knicks Game, wich took place at the Madison Square Garden in New York, USA. Celine was accompanied with her husband Rene Angelil, and her son Rene Charles. In a rare show of team competence, the Knicks beat the Portland Trail Blazers 93-84. Celine also posed with the Knicks City Dancers.
Jill Martin interviewed Celine, who talked about being back in New York and at the Madison Square Garden during halftime of this Knicks-Blazers game. The interview was broadcasted on Martin´s highly-publicized halftime segment entitled "Gimme A Minute".
On the occasion, Celine Dion met Justin Bieber for the first time. He twitted: "Just left the knick game and met my fellow canadian celine dion. @dankanter will be jealous. Nice." Dan Kanter is the musical director & guitarist for Justin Bieber.
