Falling Into You Around The World (Tour from 1996 to 1997)

From March 1996 to June 1997, Céline tours the stadiums of all the major cities of the world in Oceania, North America, Europe and Asia, sometimes returning to certain countries several months apart.

With this tour, Céline performs in the biggest stadiums in the world, with between 50,000 and 70,000 people for each concert. The tour allows Céline to perform 150 times for over a year, with over 10 concerts in Asia, 10 concerts in Oceania, over 50 concerts in Europe and 75 concerts in North America.

Tour Programme

A tour programme in French and English was distributed. This was sold at all the concerts Celine perfomed during the "Falling Into You Tour" in 1997. Printed on rice paper, this tour programme features many live and studio photographs, plus biography and tour personnel. It contains 20 pages and its dimensions are 23 x 33 centimeter.

Announcement

It is in February 1996, a few days after the last concert of the "Tour 95-96" that Celine announces the new world tour to support her album "Falling Into You".

Tour Route

The tour begins on March 18, 1996, in Perth, Australia. It then goes to major cities in Australia as well as New Zealand.

Céline begins the North American part in Canada on May 18, 1996, in Vancouver. She makes her first concert with the French set list in Quebec on June 7, 1996. She then goes to the United States, where she gives concerts in particular in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston, New-York, Dallas.

Céline starts the European part in France on September 20, 1996, with five concerts in Paris. Subsequently, she sings in large French cities, such as Lyon, Grenoble, Le Mans, Nîmes, Metz, Caen, Strasbourg and Liévin. She continues by giving concerts in many countries of Europe, such as Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Italy.

Céline returns to North America to give three concerts at the Molson Center in Montreal on December 17, 18 and 19, 1996. These concerts generate revenues of over $ 1,106,457. She then enjoys the holiday and takes a break of more than a month.

Céline resumes the tour in Japan on February 2, 1997, in Yokohama. She then gives concerts in major cities of Japan as well as in South Korea.

Céline returns to the United States on March 11, 1997 with a first concert in Tampa. In May 1997, she gives four concerts in Montreal.

In June 1997, Céline returns to Europe to give her last concerts. The Brussels concert, of June 20, 1997, is captured but no official release was made. The tour should have ended in Nice on June 28, 1997, but the concert is canceled. The tour therefore ended on June 26, 1997, in Zurich, Switzerland.
